A beautiful and moving tribute to your mom--...WOW. A beautiful and moving tribute to your mom-- both her life in general, and essentially the marriage that nurtured you and your brothers, and also your vocation to the priesthood: "They lived modestly and sometimes frugally just to make ends meet but there was always plenty of food and lots of love and faith in our house"-- now that just says so, so much.

The part about your trips and excursions together with your mom is lovely-- lately, I've been wondering more and more about what it would be like to combine vacation with retreat and pilgrimage.

a week before Thanksgiving, I got her to see the three Irish Priest tenors sing in Harrisburg.

Wonderful! I remember that there was a spiritual retreat for priests at the beginning of Pope Francis's pontificate that the Vatican uploaded to YouTube. Among the music was a performance by The Priests. What amused me, though, was that everybody was supposed to be changing "Veni, Creator Spiritus"-- and that's indeed the way they all started out. But once it became clear to all in the room that The Priests were present, singing with them, everybody else shut up!
