North to Alaska

Catholic Answers Radio invited me as their chaplain this week for the Alaskan Cruise via Holland America Line

Today, we are in Juneau and yesterday, I took this picture of a glacier. Every day I celebrate 8am Mass and offer confessions, give a talk and participate with Tim Staples, Jimmy Akin, Jim Blackburn, & Mark Shea (all VERY competent apologists at Catholic Answers) and some wonderful, intelligent and fascinating participants from across the USA and Canada. I blessed three couples so far who are here on their wedding anniversary, of which one is celebrating 52 years of wedded bliss.

Food is superb, service is impeccable, view is breathtaking and conversation is stimulating. More later ...

Father:

I am so envious of you! I used to be an avid mountaineer, wishing for the day to do Everest, McKinley (Denali) and any and all the rest. I was well on my way to all of that.

In addition, I have hoped for almost 25 years of my marriage (after all the mountain hopping)my wife and I could take that same cruise as you, but...

...too many things of health, kids, and serious issues with my wife's diabetes have so much cut us out.

We actually refinanced our house, set aside money, and were ready to schedule to actually go...but...

...My Eldest daughter somehow had a baby...no, was is not married. We were floored in more ways than one. We now will likely never go, and know in our torn and beaten down hearts, that all the terrible health issues and gobs of stupid things that left us without...

...yet may be fulfilled in people like...

YOU!

Have a great time, Father!

We care so much for you. Thank you for mentioning what you offer as you cruise, including confessions!

Peace,
