Sorry Father John but just todsy the AP reported Nicole Winfield talked about the beleaguered FFI and the extreme measures taken against the orthodox ones no more special dress no ordination no Latin Mass. Even Benedict said publicly his Moto Proprio was Wounded. And for the record two Italian canon lawyers said publicly rights are being violated
Benedict said nothing publicly about it at all. If so, give the quote, the citation, the source; date,etc. This was a rumor spread by a reporter who didn't even name the person to whom Benedict supposedly made this remark.
As for canon lawyers; I can find several who disagree on nearly anything -- they are lawyers.
